1. Its all about YOU

Don't go the way life takes you.
Take life the way you go
.

And remember you are born to live and

not living because you are born.

2. Thought for this week

The words "Listen" and "Silent" are made of same alphabets.
If only we listen silently before we speak, many of the misunderstandings and
tough situations can be avoided"
(Such Simple thoughts, but so meaningful…)

3. Lateral thinking

You have three cases of fruit. One contains just mangoes, one contains just oranges, and one contains a mixture of both. Each box is labeled -- one says "mangoes," one says "oranges," and one says "mangoes and oranges."

It is also known that none of the boxes are labeled correctly. How can you label the boxes correctly if you are only allowed to take and look at just one piece of fruit from just one of the boxes?

Answer is very logical and simple... if you have still not got it, Answers at the end of this edition…

4. Management lessons.. The obstacle in Our Path

In ancient times, a King had a boulder placed on a roadway. Then he hid himself and watched to see if anyone would remove the huge rock. Some of the king's wealthiest merchants and courtiers came by and simply walked around it.

Many loudly blamed the King for not keeping! the roads clear, but none did anything about getting the stone out of the way

Then a peasant came along carrying a load of vegetables. Upon approaching the boulder, the peasant laid down his burden and tried to move the stone to the side of the road. After much pushing and straining, he finally succeeded.

After the peasant picked up his load of vegetables, he noticed a purse lying in the road where the boulder had
been. The purse contained many gold coins and a note from the King indicating that the gold was for the
person who removed the boulder from the roadway. The peasant learned what many of us never understand!

Every obstacle presents an opportunity to improve our condition.

6. Inspiring Olympics.. From chemo patient to Olympic glory

Maarten van der Weijden, who was given only a slim chance of survival after being diagnosed with leukaemia, won the gold in the men's 10km open water marathon.

The Dutch swimmer discovered he had leukaemia in 2001 but pulled through after a stem cell transplant and chemotherapy and returned to the water two years later.

9. Health.. Tips to stay motivated to exercise

Exercise is a KEY element to good health. The trick is keeping yourself motivated to exercise
Here are some things to keep in mind

* Exercise boosts energy
* Exercise provides an outlet for feelings of pent-up hostility, irritation, and anger.
* Repetitive, rhythmic motion of exercises like walking & running brings a serene mood and clarifies thinking

* Exercise offers a chance to be alone and uninterrupted
* Regular exercise helps to keep your body chemicals in balance
* Exercise helps you fall asleep more easily and sleep more deeply

Remember : How lucky we are to be able to move easily and without pain—no wheelchair, no crutches, no brace, no trick knee or bad back.

10. Closing thoughts

When a colleague told me that thoughts that I had shared in a training program, had inspired him to get re-energised to finish his CA Inter….i felt on top of the world - no words to describe the special elated feeling.

Well what was the lesson here – Give feedback / that small appreciation BACK to people who made you accomplish or inspired you in your lives – could be your Parents, spouse, close friends, a work colleague – it makes a World of Difference to them!!!

Answers to the lateral thinking puzzle

Take a fruit from the box labeled "mangoes and oranges".
Say that the fruit is mangoes. Take the "mangoes" label and put it on that box.
Remove the "oranges and mangoes" label and put it on the box marked "oranges". It couldn't go on the box that had previously had the "mangoes" label, because that would mean that the "oranges" label couldn't be changed, and we have been told that all the boxes are mislabeled.
Move the "oranges fruit" label to the unlabeled box.

(The same logic would prevail if you started with any of the boxes.)
