1. Its all about YOU - Charles Schultz Philosophy

Superb one…thanks for sharing Priya
The following is the philosophy of Charles Schultz, the creator of the "Peanuts" comic strip. You don't have to actually answer the questions. Just read the e-mail straight through, and you'll get the point.

1. Name the five wealthiest people in the world.
2. Name the last five winners of the Miss America.
3. Name ten people who have won the Nobel or Pulitzer Prize.
4. Name the last half dozen Academy Award winner for best actor and actress.

How did you do?

The point is, none of us remember the headliners of yesterday. These are no second-rate achievers. They are the best in their fields. But the applause dies.
Awards tarnish. Achievements are forgotten.
Accolades and certificates are buried with their owners .

Here's another quiz. See how you do on this one:

1. List a few teachers who aided your journey through school.
2. Name three friends who have helped you through a difficult time.
3. Think of a few people who have made you feel appreciated and special.
4. Think of five people you enjoy spending time with .

Easier?

The lesson: The people who make a difference in your life are not the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They are the ones that care.

ENJOY TODAY AND ALWAYS!

2. Thought for this week

"Past is Experience!
Present is Experiment!
Future is Expectation!

Use your experience in your experiment to achieve your expectations"

3. Cartoon…Amazing Maths clock

A clock that has only 9's in it. Very Interesting!
Having 9's does not make it special.... U can design a clock having only 9 with 9/9 (=1), (9+9)/9(=2), (9+9+9)/9(=3) and so on...

What makes it really amazing is that... it has only 3 9's in each digit representation... It's really great calculations and design....

4. Health …Yoga – Flat tummy

Yoga has many benefits…however here is a small tip to attack that protruding tummy.

Lie down with the forehead on the ground. Keep the legs together and the arms at the sides with the palms by the side of the thighs. Now bring the arms closer to shoulder and then bend the arms at the elbows to bring the palms right below the shoulder. Tilt the head upwards to look up. Then slowly arch the spine and pressing the palms raise the upper trunk from the ground. Stay for 20 counts. Then slowly resume to normal position. Repeat twice.

5. Management quick tips.. ..

Research conducted on successful people proved a fact – their success is not because of the knowledge or family background, but because of the ability to see gaps in any given opportunity.

Just like the creepers pass through the plants, creating their own path for growth. This ability to see the gaps or potentials, and working on those gaps is the real skill in successful living.

Reflect on this story – When diamond was first discovered in Africa there was mad chase. One person sold his farm and started searching for diamonds and in that process he lost all his money. On the other hand, the person who brought the farm, discovered diamonds in that very farm itself and became rich.
Hence this expression ‘There are diamonds in our backyards’. There are diamonds of opportunities around us. Let us be alert to cash in on them. – Swami Sukhabhodhananda.

6. Jokes corner

A man checked into a hotel. There was a computer in his room, so he decided to send an e-mail to his wife. However, he accidentally typed a wrong e-mail address, and without realizing his error, he sent the e-mail.

Meanwhile....Somewhere in Houston, a widow had just returned from her husband's funeral. The widow decided to check her e-mail, expecting condolence messages from relatives and friends.

After reading the first message, she fainted. The widow's son rushed into the room, found his mother on the floor, and saw the computer screen which read:

To: My Loving Wife
Subject: I've Reached
Date: 16 Oct 2008
I know you're surprised to hear from me. They have computers here, and we
are allowed to send e-mails to loved ones.
I've just reached and have been checked in.
I see that everything has been prepared for your arrival tomorrow.
Looking forward to seeing you TOMORROW!

7. Management thoughts
A water bearer in China had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which he carried across his neck.. One of the pots had a crack in it, while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water.
At the end of the long walk from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full. For a full two years this went on daily, with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots full of water to his house. Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments, perfect for which it was made.
But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it was able to accomplish only half of what it had been made to do. After 2 years of what it perceived to be a bitter failure, it spoke to the water bearer one day by the stream. I am ashamed of myself, and because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house.
The bearer said to the pot, Did you notice that there were flowers only on your side of the path, but not on the other pot's side that's because I have always known about your flaw, and I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you've watered them.
For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house
Moral:Each of us has our own unique flaws. We're all cracked pots. But it's the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding. You've just got to take each person for what they are, and look for the good in them . . .

8. Tip for this week…. 7 Ways To Make a Great First Impression

When you have an important event to attend there are 7 great ways to make sure you perform at your very best. These tips are relevant for social events and business meetings. Discover how to communicate with confidence while making great conversation.

1. Decide what you want to say before the event. Review it in your mind to make sure it sounds okay. Keep rehearsing it until you can say it with conviction and confidence.

2. Consider your potential listeners. Who will you be talking to and which topics of conversation will be welcome? You need to make sure your message matches your audience.

3. Be yourself. The worst mistake is to pretend you are something you are not. People will see through you and distrust everything you say. Even if you communicate clearly and with confidence.

4. Never expect things to work out perfectly. Be ready to deal with problems by deciding in advance what you will do. What will you do if people ignore your input? Now is the time to decide and not later on in the heat of the moment.

5. Be flexible in your approach. Different people need to be treated differently. Pay very close attention to how people respond to what you say and keep adjusting your approach until you have a good rapport with your listener.

6. Make the other person the focus of your attention and let him lead the conversation in the early stages. Let that person steer the conversation onto topics that are of interest to him.

7. Anticipate what could go wrong. Then do what you can to make sure those scenarios do not occur. Adequate planning is the key to performing at your best in the moment.

9. Financial Scenario

Some super cartoons…

======
Investment analyst and entrepreneur Dr. Marc Faber concluded his monthly bulletin (June 2008) with the following:
''The federal government is sending each of us a $600 rebate.
If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, the money goes to China.
If we spend it on gasoline it goes to the Arabs.
If we buy a computer or software it will go to India.
If we purchase fruit and vegetables it will go to Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala.
If we purchase a good car it will go to Japan or Germany.
If we purchase useless crap it will go to Taiwan and none of it will help the American economy.
The only way to keep that money here at home is to spend it on prostitutes and beer, since these are the only products still produced in US. I've been doing my part.'

10. India Glorious

Indian Cricket:
Wonderful performance by the Indian Team, beating expectations and winning the test series 2-0 over World champions Australia. The Opinion poll amongst our readers suggested that we would only scrape through….but the Indian Cricket team played as a Cohesive unit where the Senior Players and the Newer players complemented each other and Dhoni's captaincy made a huge difference…

Easily relatable to our own office – close cooperation amongst team members, with a commitment to achieve and a Clear leader would surely create a winning team….

Chandrayaan:
Our own satellite to the moon has inched closer to the moon. A precise operation that had to be carried out to place the Satellite into the Moons orbit which was accomplished successfully. Chandrayaan is currently doing a 3D mapping the moon's surface at the same time evaluating the surface for any minerals, water, etc. A truly Proud moment for India
