1. Its all about YOU

Welcome every morning with a smile.
Look on the new day as another special gift from your Creator,
Another golden opportunity to complete what you were unable to finish yesterday.

Be a self-starter. Let your first hour set the theme of success and
positive action that is certain to echo through your entire day.

Today will never happen again. Don't waste it with a false start or no start at all.
You were not born to fail, because Life is like a mirror,
We get the best results when we smile at it.

'The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything;
they just make the most of everything.'

2. Thought for this week

When you read the life histories of people who have turned negatives into positives, adversity into advantage, stumbling blocks into stepping stone, you will find that they have refused to let disappointments and failures pull them down.

Beethoven composed some of the best music. What was his handicap? He was deaf.

Milton wrote some of the best poetry written on nature. What was his handicap? He was blind.

Turn scars into stars. – Shiv Khera

3. India Glorious..National Anthem

Good News to all of us. UNESCO announces INDIAN NATIONAL ANTHEM is the " BEST National Anthem in the World. "BE PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN".
Indian National Anthem "Jana Gana Mana" written and composed by Rabindra Nath Tagore has been chosen as the World's Best National Anthem by UNESCO.Jana Gana Mana Written in Sanskritised Bengali, it is the first of five stanzas of a Brahmo hymn composed and scored by Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore.
It was first sung at the Calcutta Session of the Indian National Congress,on 27 December 1911. Jana Gana Mana was officially adopted by the Constituent Assembly as the Indian national anthem on January 24, 1950. The music for the "current version" is said to be derived from a composition for the song by Ram Singh Thakur, although some dispute this.A formal rendition of the national anthem takes about forty-eight to fifty-two seconds.

A great feeling... a great day... a great country

4. Lateral thinking

A Cool Classic one…

Imagine you are in a room with 3 switches. In an adjacent room there are 3 bulbs (let's say in lamps which are on a regular table), each switch belongs to one bulb. All are off at the moment. It is impossible to see from one room to another. No help from anybody else is allowed. How can you find out which switch belongs to which bulb, if you may enter the room with the bulbs only once?

Ok, I am sure you would have got it logically. You can cross check your answers after "Friends" topic

5. Health… Sleeping and waking up early

A Wonderful quote from Buddha..
"Every human being is the author of his own health or disease".
Evening 9 – 11 pm: is the time for eliminating unnecessary/toxic chemicals (detoxification) from the antibody system (lymph nodes). You should be spent this time by relaxing or listening to music. If during this time a housewife is still in an unrelaxed state such as washing the dishes or monitoring children doing their homework, this will have a negative impact on health.
Evening at 11pm - 1am: is the detoxification process in the liver, and ideally should be done in a deep sleep state. Early morning 1 - 3am: detoxification process in the gall, also ideally done in a deep sleep state.
Early morning 3 - 5am: detoxification in the lungs. Therefore there will sometimes be a severe cough for cough sufferers during this time. Since the detoxification process had reached the respiratory tract, there is no need to take cough medicine so as not to interfere with toxin removal process.
Morning 5 - 7am: detoxification in the colon, you should empty your bowel.
Morning 7 - 9am: Absorption of nutrients in the small intestine, you should be having breakfast at this time. Breakfast should be earlier, before 6:30am, for those who are sick.
Breakfast before 7:30am is very beneficial to those wanting to stay fit. Those who always skip breakfast, should change their habits, and it is still better to eat breakfast late until 9 - 10am rather than no meal at all.

Sleeping so late and waking up too late will disrupt the process of removing unnecessary chemicals. Aside from that, midnight to 4:00 am is the time when the bone marrow produces blood. Therefore, have a good sleep and don't sleep late

6. Management quick tips.. Principles to learn from an Eagle

Eagles were the symbol of almost all conquerors be it Caesar or Hitler. The reason is....!! Read on..... Inspiration on the "7 Principles of an Eagle", Author Dr. Myles Monroe
Tip # 1
Eagles fly alone at a high altitude and not with sparrows or mix with other smaller birds like geese. Birds of a feather flock together. No other bird goes to the height of the eagle.
Eagles fly with eagles. Never in a flock.
Even when Moses (Old Testament Bible) went to commune with God on the mountain, he left the crowd at the foothills. Stay away from sparrows and ravens. Eagles fly with eagles.
7. Jokes corner..Current Financial Crisis

“One of the best summaries of the current banking crisis:

There are two sides to a Balance Sheet - Left (Liabilities) & Right (Assets).

On the Left side there is nothing right.
And on the right side there is nothing left.”

8. Management thoughts….A Fascinating Story

This story is Good, But…

A lady in a faded gingham dress and her husband, dressed in a homespun threadbare suit, stepped off the train in Boston, and walked timidly without an appointment into the president of Harvard's outer office.
The secretary could tell in a moment that such backwoods, country hicks had no business at Harvard and probably didn't even deserve to be in Cambridge.

She frowned. "We want to see the president," the man said softly. "He'll be busy all day," the secretary snapped. "We'll wait," the lady replied. For hours, the secretary ignored them, hoping that the couple would finally become discouraged and go away.
They didn't. And the secretary grew frustrated and finally decided to disturb the president, even though it was a chore she always regretted to do. "Maybe if they just see you for a few minutes, they'll leave," she told him.

And he sighed in exasperation and nodded. Someone of his importance obviously didn't have the time to spend with them, but he detested gingham dresses and homespun suits cluttering up his outer office. The president, stern-faced with dignity, strutted toward the couple.

The lady told him, "We had a son that attended Harvard for one year. He loved Harvard. He was happy here. But about a year ago, he was accidentally killed. And my husband and I would like to erect a memorial to him, somewhere on campus." The president wasn't touched, he was shocked.

"Madam," he said gruffly. "We can't put up a statue for every person who attended Harvard and died. If we did, this place would look like a cemetery". "Oh, no," the lady explained quickly. "We don't want to erect a statue. We thought we would like to give a building to Harvard."
The president rolled his eyes. He glanced at the gingham dress and homespun suit, then exclaimed, "A building! Do you have any earthly idea how much a building costs? We have over seven and a half million dollars in the physical plant at Harvard."

For a moment the lady was silent. The president was pleased. He could get rid of them now. And the lady turned to her husband and said quietly, "Is that all it costs to start a University? Why don't we just start our own?"
Her husband nodded. The president's face wilted in confusion and bewilderment. And Mr. and Mrs. Leland Stanford walked away, traveling to Palo Alto, California where they established the University that bears their name, a memorial to a son that Harvard no longer cared about.

"You can easily judge the character of others by how they treat those who can do nothing for them or to them." Malcolm Forbes

10. Cartoons

Why Didn't someone think of this before..

Answers to Lateral thinking Puzzle

First flip the first switch, leave it on for 5 minutes, then flip it off.
Then flip the second switch on and leave the third switch off.
After that enter the room.

The bulb which is on is connected to the second switch. The bulb which is off and cold is connected to the third switch and the bulb which is off and warm is connected to the first switch.

Simple isn't it

11. Closing thoughts… Hithendran

Feel very proud of Hithendrans Parents and so I dedicate the closing thoughts to Hithendran / His parents

Hithendran’s parents are grieving at the same time they feel a sense of fulfilment. S Ashokan and Pushpanjali, took the bold decision of donating the organs of their brain-dead 16-year-old son.

Hithendran’s heart, kidneys, corneas, and liver were removed by doctors at Apollo Hospital, where he had been admitted, to be used on patients waiting their turn for a fresh lease of life. While the heart is already ticking inside a child at Dr Cherian’s Frontier Lifeline Hospital, the corneas have gone to Sankara Nethralaya and the kidneys and liver were retained at Apollo.

Hithendran fell from his bike and sustained head injuries while trying to avoid an oncoming bus at Teachers’ Nagar, between Thirukazhkundram and Chengalpattu . He was not wearing a helmet. Precious minutes lapsed as the boy, who could not be identified immediately by the locals, was brought home to his doctor parents more than 15 minutes after the accident.

“We were such a happy family,” Dr Ashokan said heaving with sobs. “I thought my son would take care of me.” However, as both parents were doctors, well aware of organ donation, they decided to take a bold step. “We did not want to burn his body. We decided that his organs, at least, should help others. I do not want to know who gets Hithendran’s organs, but I hope they all survive and praise my son.”

Truly Amazing…Proud of this Great Indian. Hats off to His Parents!!!
