Getting hit with "New slippers"
Vetern actor Sivakumar's shared a very interesting incident recently.

Sivakumar is known for so being a great father, who has brought his children up the right way - good habits, well cultured, etc.Being in a joint family, he took great care of everyone in the family also - His children, niece, nephews, other elders in the family, etc - one day he bought a gift for his wife and his wife's simple question was -"Thanks - but why a gift for me suddenly after 15 years of marriage" It was then that the realisation came into him that how much he had taken his wife for granted - he took great care of everyone around him, but though he loved his wife a lot, he had not taken care of her...

He says that question made him feel as if he was being hit by a New slipper (not sure why he used "NEW"), but sure it had its impact.
So how do you want to get hit with - New or Old slippers...

Well, you can choose not to get hit...and show your love / affection for your loved ones...Your parents, siblings, spouse,a friend, etc. At office, it could be your team member or employee or your boss.
Don't wait to engrave your positive thoughts in peoples graves or in their farewells. See the positive difference it creates in your relationships, when you share your positive thoughts.

How many times have we heard "I never knew that I was valued so much by you" - when an employee quits!!

1.Its all about YOU - Confidence , Trust and Hope

CONFIDENCE
Once, all village people decided to pray for rain.
On the day of prayer all people gathered and only one boy came
with an Umbrella, that's Confidence

TRUST
Trust should be like the feeling of a one year old baby when you throw him in the air,
he laughs... because he knows you will catch him; that's Trust

HOPE
Every night we go to bed, we have no assurance to get up alive
in the next morning but still you have plans for the coming day ;
that's Hope

HAVE CONFIDENCE, TRUST & NEVER LOSE HOPE

2. Thought for this week
If your temper is aroused and you tell others a thing or two, you will have a fine time in unloading your feelings. But just think about the feelings of other person.

During time of great stress and adversity, it is always best to keep busy, plow all your anger and your energy into something positive. That’s what Mr M K Gandhi did, after he was thrown out of the train by a railway official. Later on, he became Mahatma Gandhi.

3. Health - Fruits – Eating it Right!!!

# 1 Fruits should be taken in empty stomach…… Never as a dessert
Benefits:
- Helps to detoxify your system
- Supplies with a great deal of energy for weight loss
- Prevents Greying hair, balding & nervous outburst, dark circles under the eyes

Why:
Lets say you eat two slices of bread and then a slice of fruit
As fruits digests faster than bread, the slice of fruits digest quickly and ready to go straight through the stomach into the intestines, but its passage is blocked by the bread which takes longer to digest…. ..... In the mean time the whole meal ferments and turns to acid.
Consequently when fruits, come into contact with the food in the stomach and digestive juices, the entire mass of food begins to spoil

#2 Drink fresh fruit juice - Avoid canned juice.
Don’t drink juice that has been heated up.
Don’t eat cooked fruits because you don’t get nutrients at all.

#3 Eating the pulp or the whole fruit also helps as the fibre is good for us.

#4 Drink the juice sip by sip slowly, because you must let it mix with your saliva before swallowing it.

A 3-day “fruit fast” is a very simple and very effective way to cleanse and de-toxify your body. Just eat fruits and drink fruits juice throughout the 3 days and don’t be surprised when your friends tell you how radiant you look! During the “fruit fast” you can eat different fruits at different times, & occasionally mixed fruit salad would be also interesting

4. Management quick tips..
Handbook 2009 – Personality

* Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
* Don't have negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.
* Don't over do. Keep your limits.
* Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
* Don't waste your precious energy on gossip.
* Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.
* Forget issues of the past. Don't remind your partner with his/her mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness.
* Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.. Don't hate others.
* Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.
* No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
* Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away
like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
* Smile and laugh more.
* You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

My favourites are in orange color…so what did you like in this message !!

5. Jokes corner..Sub Prime for All

Linda is the proprietor of a bar in Cork. In order to increase sales, she decides to allow her loyal customers - most of whom are unemployed alcoholics - to drink now but pay later.
She keeps track of the drinks consumed on a ledger (thereby granting the customers loans). Word gets around and as a result increasing numbers of customers flood into Linda's bar. Taking advantage of her customers' freedom from immediate payment constraints, Linda increases her prices for wine and beer, the most-consumed beverages. Her sales volume increases massively.

A young and dynamic customer service consultant at the local bank recognizes these customer debts as valuable future assets and increases Linda's borrowing limit. He sees no reason for undue concern since he has the debts of the alcoholics as collateral. At the bank's corporate headquarters, expert bankers transform these customer assets into DRINKBONDS, ALKBONDS and PUKEBONDS. These securities are then traded on markets worldwide.

No one really understands what these abbreviations mean and how the securities are guaranteed. Nevertheless, as their prices continuously climb, the securities become top-selling items. One day, although the prices are still climbing, a risk manager (subsequently of course fired due to his negativity) of the bank decides that slowly the time has come to demand payment of the debts incurred by the drinkers at Linda's bar.

However they cannot pay back the debts. Linda can not fulfil her loan obligations and claims bankruptcy. DRINKBOND and ALKBOND drop in price by 95 %. PUKEBOND performs better, stabilizing in price after dropping by 80 %. The suppliers of Linda's bar, having granted her generous payment due dates and having invested in the securities are faced with a new situation. Her wine supplier claims bankruptcy, her beer supplier is taken over by a competitor. The bank is saved by the Government following dramatic round-the-clock consultations by leaders from the governing political parties (and vested interests). The funds required for this purpose are obtained by a tax levied on the non-drinkers.

Finally an explanation one can understand...

6. Management thoughts..Trust in….

Once there was a man who asked God for a Flower and ……a Butterfly. But Instead God gave him a cactus and…………….a Caterpillar

The man was sad, he didn't understand why his request was mistaken. Then he thought: Oh Well, God has too many people to care for….And decided not to question.

After some time, the man went to check up on his request that he had left forgotten.

To his surprise, from the thorny and ugly cactus a beautiful flower had grown. And the unsightly caterpillar had been transformed into the most beautiful butterfly.

God always does things right!!! His way is ALWAYS the best way, even if to us it seems all wrong. If you asked for one thing and received another, TRUST. You can be sure that He will always give you what you need at the appropriate time.
What you want…..is not always what you need!!!!

God never fails to grant our petitions, so keep on going to him without doubting or murmuring
Today's THORN, Is tomorrow's FLOWER

God gives the very best to those who leave the choices up to him.

Never mind the form of God that you pray to…..Just trust him

7. Parenting
Home - A Prepared Environment – # 5 Toys & washroom

In his early explorations of his environment, the child is seeking independence through mastering his surroundings. It is up to the parent to permit the necessary explorations and also to arrange the environment so the child can learn to do things for himself."

Toys
"A key element....is structure and order. Through this internalized order, the child learns to trust his environment and his power to interact with it in a positive way."
- with your child, designate a place for everything
- rotate toys, this assists the child in making choices and prevents him from feeling overwhelmed
- provide separate boxes and bins for different toys, allows for choice

Washroom
"From the earliest possible age, the child must be provided with things which may help him do things by himself."
- elasticized underwear that fits properly
- elasticized pants, shorts, skirts
- avoid belts, buckles, buttons, snaps, zippers
- a foot stool in the bathroom so children can readily access the toilet and sink

In addition to assisting children gain independence, these suggestions help children gain self-control, acquire a healthy self-image and provide opportunities for adults and children to spend time together. These activities all take the adult's time and patience in the beginning but are worth it!

10. Psychology… Reading people's characters….using Masala Dosa(!!) Part 3/3

There are many ways to eat a masala dosa ..What ever the way one eats; there is a very good reason for doing that. It shows some traits of the person that is you...

People who take one or two bites and then offer the dosa to others: These guys care about friends and friendship but they take their time to get into the group. They take their time in making friends and they typically are very committed once into the friendship. These guys like to always be in the side lines and typically do not jump into anything in life. They always take their time to analyze the situation and then make a decision. These guys take the better safe than sorry approach.

People who wait for others to make the offer first: Typical people I must say. They are unsure about everything. Even if they wanted to offer, they will wait till the other person offers the food first. If the other person is silent, so are these people. They are the followers. They do terrific idea, they will pitch it to someone else and get their advice before proceeding. Sadly, most of the elderly world like these types of people.

People who offer dosa only when they cannot finish it on their own: You all may be familiar with these kinds of people. People who are very generous only when all their needs are fulfilled. These folks are selfish but at the same time not misers or greedy. They just want to satisfy themselves before they give it to the world. They typically do not stuff themselves nor do they tend to starve. They are very good people who would give you the best of advices in life. They would make sure that you are not sad following their advice.

People who offer the whole dosa and eat from others plates: These folks are other extreme. They know what they want, they get what they want but they cannot enjoy what they want. Instead they tend to settle for other things in life which satisfies the needs but does not satisfy the person completely. These guys are termed as born losers cause even when they have the thing they wanted, they can't stop others from stealing it from them.

So next time you sit with a person eating masala dosa, look closely and see if he falls into one of the above categories. You may be surprised as how much it reveals about the person
