Good to Great # 42, Womens day Special

International Women's Day (IWD) -- "This is a day to celebrate ordinary women who have done extraordinary things"

A tribute to our mothers, daughters, sisters, wives and friends - On this occasion, please take time to pay tribute to the wonderful and fabulous women in our lives.

It could be your mom, who patiently changed your nappies and comforted you during tough times.

It could be your wife-cum-superwoman, who's getting promotion after promotion. And yet she finds the time to take care of your kids the way only she can.

Or maybe it's your boss or an employee or colleague, who can juggle 10 tasks simultaneously and yet come up with the brightest ideas while you are feeling down and out.

Is there a woman like this who inspires you? Pay tribute to her. The women in our lives deserve more than just a day of appreciation.
Ok – I would like to pay tribute to the Three women in my Life – My Mother, My Wife and My daughter…!!!

As the focus on education and the empowerment of women gains greater traction, women around the World have much to celebrate, but still more to accomplish.

Theme for 2009: Women and men united to end violence against women and girls

Ok Friends, with those friendly thoughts, here comes a Edition # 42 of Good to Great… Read in Leisure and please continue to share your articles, jokes, puzzles, feedback to balajineela@gmail.com

1. Its all about YOU - Honesty

Honesty does not mean simply speaking your mind. Honesty means to be very clear about everything going on inside you. Where there is honesty, feelings become pure and clean.

Honesty is where there are no other thoughts or feelings inside, other than those that God himself would have. Such clarity is reflected in your words; they will be filled with the power of truth, and spoken with ease and without hesitation.

The genuine honesty cultivated within you is what will reach out and touch others.

So…Cut those negative thoughts, even as they arise and be more honest – to yourself and to the World and start to feel lightness in you…

5. Jokes corner..

One of the best jokes I read recently - almost fell down laughing

Zoo Performer

One day an unemployed guy is visiting the zoo and attempts to earn some money as a street performer. However, as soon as he starts to draw a crowd, the zookeeper grabs him and drags him into his office.

The zookeeper explains that the zoo's most popular attraction, a gorilla, has died suddenly. The keeper fears that attendance at the zoo will fall off. He offers the guy a job to dress up as the gorilla until they can get another one. The unemployed guy accepts.

The next morning, before the crowd arrives, the guy puts on the gorilla suit and enters the cage. He discovers that it's a great job. He can sleep all he wants, play and make fun of people and he draws bigger crowds than he ever did.

However, eventually the crowds tire of him and he gets bored just swinging on tires. He begins to notice that the people are paying more attention to the lion in the cage next to his.

Not wanting to lose the attention of his audience, he climbs to the top of his cage, crawls across a partition, and dangles from the top to the lion's cage. Of course, this makes the lion furious, but the crowd loves it.

At the end of the day the zookeeper comes and gives a raise for being such a good attraction as a gorilla.

Well, this goes on for some time. The guy keeps taunting the lion, the crowds grow larger, and his salary keeps going up. Then one terrible day when he is dangling over the furious lion, he slips and falls. The guy is terrified. The lion gathers itself and prepares to pounce. The guy is so scared that he begins to run round and round the cage with the lion close behind.

Finally, the guy starts screaming and yelling, "Help, Help me!", but the lion is quick and pounces. The guy soon finds himself flat on his back looking up at the angry lion and the lion says, "Shut up you idiot! Do you want to get us both fired?"

7. Parenting - Home - A Prepared Environment – # 3 Kitchen

"For many years, we had to show the guests where the dishes were kept because they were all in low cupboards, within reach of the children."

- provide child sized eating utensils
- use real objects when possible, respectfully share with your children what the rest of the family uses
- have a shelf in the cupboard and fridge with appropriate snacks for children to choose from when hungry
- provide a designated area for eating snacks, a child sized table
- allow children to participate in meal preparation, washing fruits and vegetables, setting and clearing the table, etc
- encourage children to feed themselves
- use cloth placemats which children enjoy rolling

In addition to assisting children gain independence, these suggestions help children gain self-control, acquire a healthy self-image and provide opportunities for adults and children to spend time together. These activities all take the adult's time and patience in the beginning but are worth it!

8. Cartoons..

Take pride in your job - may not be as tough or dangerous as this person in a Military firing range has!!!

9. Reading characters of people….using Masala Dosa(!!) Part 1/3

Amazing forward – never realised you could learn so much from 1 masala dosa – the article is being spread over 2 editions considering the size

There are many ways to eat a masala dosa ..What ever the way one eats; there is a very good reason for doing that. It shows some traits of the person that is you...

Case 1: People who open the masala dosa and eat it: These are the people who are very open about their life. Everyone one the persons friends would know all about him/her. I have generally seen guys do this rather than girls. Some people think that it is a gross way of eating but in truth, these people are just portraying who they are and how their life is.

Case 2: People who start from both end and approach the masala later: These are the people who like to wait for the exiting things to come to their life. Sadly when the times comes, they are not too interested or just do not know how to enjoy it to the fullest. These are the folks who just want life as either dry or exiting. They just do not know how to phase their life and enjoy it no matter what. There are two types of people within this group

Case 3: People who do not finish all the masala: These folks just do not care as much for the fun times as they are already brought down by the harsh reality of life. The dry periods in their life has left them with so much scars that they do not want to be really happy when the time is right. They just take only as much as they needed and end their life. A very sorry state indeed.

Case 4: People who finish all the masala with the little dosa they have: These are the folks who just are the extremes. They just go all out in life. No matter it is dark or bright. They may not enjoy life to the fullest but they sure make sure that they get every single good and bad thing out of life. Sometimes these folks are really hard to get along with. They are either your best friends or your worst enemies. They do not have a middle path at all.

Case 5: People who start from the middle and proceed to both ends: These are the people who like to get right to what they think is their best part of life. Usually these guys finish of the good portions in a hurry and get stuck with nothing but worst parts of their life. The thing to note among these people is that the tendency to burn out very early in their life. Like the above case, there are two kinds of people in this group too.

So next time you sit with a person eating masala dosa, look closely and see if he falls into one of the above categories. You may be surprised as how much it reveals about the person* Enjoy eating Masala Dosa
