12. Closing thoughts

1. It's all about YOU….Thank God for everything we have…..

Today before we think of saying an unkind word
Think of someone who can't speak

Before we complain about the taste of your food
Think of someone who has nothing to eat

Before we complain about your husband or wife
Think of someone who's crying out to God for a companion

Today before we complain about life
Think of someone who went too early to heaven

Before whining about the distance we drive
Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet

And when we are tired and complain about our job
Think of the unemployed, the physically challenged and
those who wished they had your job

And when depressing thoughts seem to get us down
Put a smile on your face and thank God you're alive and still around.

2. Thought for this week

We do not inherit the earth from our ancestors,
we borrow it from our children;
We never know the worth of water till the well is dry"

3. Puzzle…

An empty water tank has 3 inflow pipes, A, B and C, and 1 outflow pipe, D, attached to it.

Pipe A working alone can fill the tank in 12 minutes;
Pipe B working alone can fill the tank in 15 minutes;
Pipe C working alone can fill the tank in 20 minutes,
while Pipe D working alone can empty the tank in 9 minutes.

How long would it take to fill the tank if all 4 pipes are turned on at the same time?

Think carefully …..get your thinking caps on..!!!

Check your answers at the end of the blog…

4. Management quick tips.. Principles to learn from an Eagle

Eagles were the symbol of almost all conquerors be it Caesar or Hitler. The reason is....!! Read on..... Inspiration on the "7 Principles of an Eagle", Author Dr. Myles Monroe

The Eagle is the only bird that loves the storm. When clouds gather, the eagles get excited. The eagle uses the wings of the storm to rise and is pushed up higher. Once it finds the wing of the storm, the eagle stops flapping and uses the pressure of the raging storm to soar the clouds and glide. This gives the eagle an opportunity to rest its wings. In the meantime all the other birds hide in the leaves and branches of the trees.

We can use the storms of our lives (obstacles, trouble, etc) to rise to greater heights. Achievers relish challenges and use them profitably.

5. Jokes corner…Wrong Number

A man joins a big corporate empire as a trainee.

On his very first day of work, he dials the pantry and shouts into the phone - "Get me a coffee, quickly!"

The voice from the other side responded, "You fool you've dialed the wrong extension! Do you know who you're talking to, dumbo?"

"No," replied the trainee."It's the CEO of the company, you fool!"
The trainee shouts back, "And do YOU know who YOU are talking to, you fool?!"

"No." replied the CEO indignantly.

"Good!" replied the trainee, and puts down the phone.

6. Health…..Interesting

7. Management thoughts

One naturalist divided an aquarium into two sections with a clear glass partition and put a lusty bass in one section and some tiny minnows (small freshwater fish) in the other. The bass struck every time when a minnow approached the glass partition.

After three days of fruitless lunging that gave him only bruises, the lusty bass ceased his efforts and contended himself with the fish food the naturalist dropped into his section. At this stage, the naturalist removed the glass partition. All the lively minnows swim merrily all round the bass, but the bass kept quite by not striking even at a single one. He had enough – he was absolutely sure that his efforts would be fruitless.

We often behave like the bass when we give up easily. The next time you are tempted to give up because you are quite sure that it is useless to keep on trying, just think of the bass.

When you strike again, you may find that the partition isn’t there. Success doesn’t mean absence of failure. It means attainment of ultimate objective.

Success means winning the war and not every battle.

10. Financial Crisis

A) On current financial market:-

What worries me most about the credit crunch is that if one of my cheques is returned stamped "insufficient funds", I won't know whether that refers to mine or the bank's

B) Is a Recession coming....

Make your own judgment, don't panic!! Do what is wise.

Here are some pro active steps to avoid a painful time in the next two years which is how long the recession could last.

Suggestions:

1. Don't take any loans; buy homes, properties with loans, or even cash. Keep as much cash as possible. 2. Pay off as much of personal loans, private loans, as debt collection will be hastened. 3. Sell any stocks you can even at lower prices. 4. Take money off from Trust Funds. 5. Don't believe in huge sales forecast from customers, be extremely prudent, lowest inventories, reduce liabilities. 6. Don't invest in new capital. 7. If you are selling homes/ properties/ cars, do it now, when you can get good prices, they are going to fall. 8. Don't invest in new business proposals.
9. Cancel holiday plans using credit cards.
10. Don't change jobs, as companies will retrench based on 'last in first out'.Stay cool, wait, and if you took all of the above actions and more, you probably will be better off then many.

India is a self economy, heavily protected, but not gullible.

12. Closing thoughts…

India Australia Series:
Was an Interesting finish to a Great series coming up…A Draw, but before it had its moments of thrill & drama. Zaheer Lead the way as a Batsman and gave the confidence to the entire team to take the battle to the rival camp.

Ponting made a bold decision on the final day to try and induce a decision by setting a target of 299….with the likes of Viru , Sachin , Dhoni, Tendulkar….India did have a chance, but 2 early quick wickets forced India to play out for a draw.

Sachin's is on the verge of becoming the World's leading run scorer – though fell 14 runs short….will have to wait for the Second test to reach this Great milestone.

The Next test will be at Mohali a Green top pitch – much more favorable to Seamers – the Australians will get a good advantage, but let us see the Grit / Determination in the Indian team – which will make it an interesting match to watch

Financial Crisis

We are seeing some anxious moments across the globe on Financial sector impacting (& will impact) millions of people across the World. The job cuts announced by the Jet- Kingfisher deal are just the tip of the Iceberg of series of things to come up.

The recent concerted actions initiated by G-20 nations had its initial impact, but more such joint actions by various nations/groups are required to ensure an Early recovery or else…
