"Will Your Next Mistake Be Fatal " ?....is a very thought provoking title of a book written by Robert Mittelstaedt.

This book has some excellent thoughts – a few to start with, please read slowly and ponder over this

- A major catastrophe or error or lapse does not happen overnight, but is often a chain of mistakes that are often undetected – conversely, implement & look for those early warning signals that would help to identify potential Major issues or errors and correct them early.

- "Build systems that prevent "failure chains" from spiralling out of control"

- "Anything worth doing is worth doing right"

If you get an opportunity, please read this book and I am sure you would benefit from it…

Friends, With these powerful thoughts, here comes Edition # 37 of Good to Great… please read in Leisure and continue to share your articles, jokes, puzzles, feedback to balajineela@gmail.com

2. Thought for this week…

Some Different thoughts….

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive
and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways

Chardonnay in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming, "WOO HOO, What a Ride!

Life is too short – so do not forget to enjoy it!!!

3. Health.. Weight reduction practical tips

^ Store foods out of sight
^ Do NOT keep many high fat, high sugar foods in your home
^ Take smaller servings
^ Eat at the table and turn OFF the Television
^ ADD moderate to vigorous intensity physical activities in your day
^ Keep in front of you a "Slim-looking" YOU

4. Management quick tips... Creating Time / Being More effective @ work

Tip #2: At work, cut out non-work distractions.

A friend / colleagues / your cousin’s wedding pictures on a photo storage website, friends / mates calling, your own urge to call friends, forwarding jokes on email or sms.
All these act as holes in the drain, when it comes to time – individually small, but collectively, adding up to a lot in an average work day.

Tip #3: Breaks.

Tea breaks are important as ‘me-time’, but before you know it, you’ve spent twenty minutes catching up with colleagues on what happened to that programmer who quit last month. Let’s not forget drop-by visitors who have not scheduled to meet you. While sometimes it’s unavoidable, accept that you can say ‘no’ most of the time.

5. Jokes corner

A Woman named Barbara appeared on Who Wants to be a Millionaire. ...
Regis: "Barbara, you've done very well so far, $500,000 and one lifeline left--phone a friend. The next question will give you the first ever million dollars if you get it right.... But if you get it wrong you will drop back to $32,000...are you ready?"
Barbara: "Sure I'll have a go."

Regis: "Which of the following birds does not build its own nest? Is it...A-Robin, B-Sparrow, C-Cuckoo or D-Thrush Remember, Barbara, it's worth 1 million dollars."
Barbara: "Oh, gees, that's simple.... it's a cuckoo.."

Regis: "You're sure? You can stick on $500,000 or play on for the million."
Barbara: "I want to play; I'll go with C-Cuckoo."

Regis: "Is that your final answer?"
Barbara: "It is"

Regis: "Are you confident?"
Barbara: "Absolutely"

Regis: "Barbara, you had $500,000 and you said C-Cuckoo. Well....you' re right! You have just won 1 MILLION DOLLARS!!!! Here is your check. You have been a great contestant and a real gambler. Audience please put your hands together for Barbara."

That night Barbara calls her friend Carol and they go to a local bar for a celebration drink.

As they are sipping champagne, Carol turns to Barbara and asks, "Tell me, how in God's name did you know that it was the cuckoo that does not build its own nest?" "Get real!"

Barbara replies, "Everybody knows cuckoos live in clocks!"

No comments to offer….!!!

6. Management thoughts…Grab that opportunity

There is nothing called perfect opportunity. Grab the first opportunity which comes to you.
Do not wait or expect the better ones to come again. You might have to wait for entire life.

A young man wished to marry the farmer's beautiful daughter. He went to the farmer to ask his permission.

The farmer looked at him and said, "Son, go stand out in that field.
I'm going to release three bulls, one at a time. If you can catch the tail of any one of the three bulls, you can marry my daughter."

The young man stood in the field awaiting the first bull. The barn door opened and out came the biggest, meanest looking bull he had ever seen. He decided that one of the next bulls had to be a better choice than this one, so he ran over to the side and let the bull pass through.

The barn door opened again. Unbelievable. He had never seen anything so big and fierce in his life. It stood pawing the ground, it eyed him. Whatever the next bull was like, it had to be a better choice than this one he thought. He ran to the fence and let the bull pass through.

The door opened a third time. A smile came across his face. This was the weakest bull he had ever seen. This one was his bull, he said to himself. As the bull came running by, he positioned himself just right and jumped at just the exact moment. He threw his hands to grab.....But alas.... The bull had no tail.

Do not wait for the perfect opportunity. Always grab the first one

The purpose of friendship is not to have someone who might be completely with you..
But To have someone with whom you can share your incompleteness..
